The Articles of Faith
The Articles of Faith
1. We believe in the Eternal Father and Mother, and in Their Son, Jesus the Christ, as the Eternal High Priest and Redeemer of the world. We believe in the Holy Spirit, which is the Light Mind (Nous), revealing all truth; we venerate the host of heaven, recognizing the plurality of gods, each participating in the divine council under the leadership of the Most High.
2. We believe that all humans are children of the Most High, endowed with a shard of divine light, the pneuma, and that through the grace of Jesus Christ, all may be redeemed from sin and ignorance, and brought into the light of salvation.
3. We believe that God has sent many prophets and messengers throughout time, including Eve, Seth, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, Miriam, John the Baptist, our Lord Jesus, Mar Mani, and Joseph Smith, to reveal divine truths and guide us toward the fullness of the gospel, helping humanity ascend to spiritual freedom and return to the divine presence.
4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of salvation are faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, and the transformative ordinances of the transcendent temple. These include baptism by fire (reception by the laying on of hands), the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, the bridal chamber, and the laying on of hands for the conferring of the Melchizedek Priesthood upon both men and women.
5. We believe that all who are called of God, whether male or female, may hold the keys of both the Aaronic and the Melchizedek Priesthood, serving as priests and priestesses to build the Kingdom of God.
6. We believe that our Heavenly Parents desire us to rejoin Them in the highest degree of glory. As we ascend into the Telestial, Terrestrial, the Column of Glory and into the Celestial kingdoms, we can participate in the divine council and become gods. The outer darkness is reserved for those elohim who rebel against the light.
7. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth, to minister to the faithful.
8. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit, including prophecy, revelation, healing, the interpretation of sacred mysteries, and the gift of translating ancient texts. These are manifested by the Light of Christ in all nations through divine messengers.
9. We believe that God reveals truth through the scriptures, which include the teachings of Enoch, the Ugaritic texts, the Dead Sea Scrolls, The Old and New Testaments, and the Manichaean and Gnostic scriptures, the Book of Mormon, the Book of Abraham, and the writings of Bardaisan and Mani. We seek further light and knowledge through ongoing revelation and the unveiling of sealed portions of Scripture, which will continue until the end of the age.
10. We believe in the literal gathering of the faithful into the Kingdom of Salem, where peace and righteousness shall reign, and that Christ will return to rule as the Eternal King. The faithful will inherit the earth in a state of divine unity and prepare the world for the final victory over darkness.
11. We claim the privilege of worshiping the Most High Father and Mother, and our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ according to the dictates of our conscience, and we allow all people the same privilege, inviting them to partake of the light of truth while honoring the sacred traditions of every nation.
12. We believe in being subject to the laws of heaven, which supersede earthly governance, while also upholding peace, justice, and righteousness in our relationships with civil authorities where they align with divine principles.
13. We believe in living lives of consecration, peace, and holiness, striving to become children of light. We seek to do good to all, follow the divine example of Christ, and build a world where heaven and earth are united through love, service, and the power of divine revelation.
The core teachings of Prophets and Messengers
The Restored Fellowship of Christ embraces the belief that divine revelation is an ongoing process, with Holy Wisdom imparting knowledge to each generation to guide them in the present age. As Doctrine and Covenants 93:30-31 teaches, "All truth is independent in that sphere in which God has placed it, to act for itself, as all intelligence also; otherwise there is no existence." Each era is blessed with new revelations as humanity becomes ready to receive higher knowledge, continuing the eternal cycle of restoration. Holy Wisdom reveals the mysteries of the cosmos, preparing us for the challenges of our age and leading us toward greater understanding.
At the heart of our faith is the centrality of Christ, whose life, atonement, and resurrection conquered the powers of darkness and broke the condemnation of the law and its maker. Christ's victory is over both the law that binds humanity in sin and the lesser gods who seek to enslave humanity under that law. As Romans 8:2 declares, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Through Christ’s victory, the children of light are freed from the burden of sin, liberated to ascend into the celestial glory and become one with the Father and Mother. In this divine plan, the fall of Adam plays a pivotal role in the unfolding of salvation.
We affirm that Adam's fall was necessary for humanity's progression. As taught in 2 Nephi 2:25: "Adam fell that men might be, and men are, that they might have joy." Through the Fall, Adam and Eve initiated the mortal journey of humankind, making it possible for us to learn, grow, and ascend to the divine. The Fall was not a mistake, but part of the Most High's design for humanity to experience the full spectrum of life, knowledge, and wisdom, thereby preparing us for exaltation. By experiencing both good and evil, light and darkness, we develop the divine qualities necessary to become like our Eternal Parents.
This path of progression is central to our belief that we are destined to become gods and goddesses in the celestial kingdom. Through Christ's atonement and the sacred ordinances of the temple, we are invited to walk the path of deification. As Doctrine and Covenants 132:19-20 teaches, those who remain faithful will "be gods, because they have no end." This sacred truth is foundational to our understanding of salvation, as we prepare to ascend through the three degrees of glory and be exalted in the presence of the Father and Mother.
Christ's atonement not only redeems us from sin but opens the way for our transformation into divine beings, fulfilling the promise made to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Their fall was the beginning of our journey toward godhood, and Christ’s victory has made it possible for us to achieve the fullness of our divine potential. In this ongoing process, revelation continues to unfold, guiding us through each age of humanity and revealing new layers of wisdom as we prepare for the final restoration.
The Restored Fellowship of Christ stands as a community devoted to this divine path. We honor both the ancient traditions and the contemporary revelations that continue to expand our understanding of the divine cosmos. We strive to follow Christ, the Eternal High Priest, who leads us toward victory over darkness and the fullness of light. Through ongoing revelation, faith in Christ, and the sacred ordinances of the temple, we are preparing for the day when Christ will return in glory, and the children of light will be exalted as gods in the celestial kingdom.
Our vision is to build the Kingdom of Salem on earth, a community of peace, justice, and divine presence where all are united in the Spirit of Christ. Guided by the Holy Spirit and the teachings of the ancient prophets, we are committed to living lives of consecration, where the faithful share all things in common, and no one is left in need. This reflects the law of consecration revealed to us through the scriptures, ensuring the well-being of every soul within the community.
We seek to restore the sacred ordinances of the First Temple, not as a physical building but as a transcendent reality, where the faithful can commune with God in the Holy of Holies, within their own hearts. We believe that the veil has been torn, and the divine presence is accessible to all who seek it. As living temples, we strive to embody the divine light and truth in our daily lives.
We also envision a world where both men and women are empowered to serve as spiritual leaders, holding the priesthood and ministering in the sacred work of salvation. Our goal is to reflect the divine order in all aspects of our worship and service, honoring the union of our divine Father and Mother as we fulfill their purpose on earth.
Ultimately, our vision is the return of Christ the King, who will reign in glory and righteousness. We work to prepare ourselves and the world for His coming, by spreading the light of the gospel and inviting all to become part of the body of Christ—the transcendent temple of the living God.
In this work, we draw on the wisdom of ancient scripture and the revelations given to the prophets, continually seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit to build a community where heaven and earth are united in harmony and love. We invite all who are called to join us in this divine mission.
